Promotional strategy
The promotional strategy, especially as
time was drawing ever closer to the event, had to be changed for various
reasons. From posers and flyers, possibly some mention on the local radio and
newspapers. However, with everything not getting done and slowly falling apart,
there was too little time for any of the big media promotions. Equally, the
design for the poster only got done extremely late which made it all very short
notice and almost impossible to implement anything more elaborate. As a last
resort and effort it has been tried to utilize the good old word of mouth to
promote the event and bring some people through the door, obviously all linked
by the facebook page. It is probably worth mentioning that the advertising
department of facebook must have had a good laugh when they approved and then
disproved of one and the same unchanged advert (the event poster with info) a
few times over the space of hours which clearly did not help getting the word
out.
